How To: Restoring health
Whenever you need to refill your health and Force, press Start then press the L or R until you get to the map screen. Press X to transit back to your safe location for that world. Once there, you will have full Force power and health for your entire party. Now repeat those steps to transit back to your original location. Note: This usually only works when outdoors, and if you leave the area near your safe spot the transit back will be disabled, forcing you to walk back. Also when you level up, think about where you are in the game. If you know a big battle is about to happen and you do not need any new powers, then consider healing yourself, and not leveling up yet. Whatever experience you get automatically goes to your next level anyway, and leveling up completely heals you. It is more useful to do this than to try to heal or use medipacs in the middle of a battle.
