To steal the ball easily, hold R2 (defensive side step) and stay with your opponent while repeatedly pressing Square until you steal the ball. If you are tired of the CPU always pushing, set the fouls to "On" in the game rules menu. When the CPU fouls you, you can go to the line to shoot your foul shots.
